This isn’t your typical ‘mommy blog.’ The truth is I didn’t set out to be a ‘mommy blogger’ at all and actually fought the idea with everything in me. As only God can do, the idea continually surfaced in my mind and heart until I very reluctantly agreed to step out of my passion for Christian eating disorder recovery ministry and take some time to instead build up a ministry for mommas.

My heart is for the momma who feels like she is overwhelmed and burdened in her journey as a mother. I am well acquainted with those feelings and want to help encourage and equip any other woman who may be feeling this way to lay those burdens down at the foot of the cross and instead live into the abundance that is ours as Christians.

John 10:10 (esv) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

We are not longer going to be mommas who allow the enemy to steal our joy in building and raising our families. My hope is to teach women how to embrace a ‘Deuteronomy 6″ type family dynamic, right from the “trenches of motherhood” myself.

I have not arrived. I have a seven and a four year old.

But allow me to let you in on a little secret, you don’t have to have arrived to encourage others, to join hands and hearts as together we change the world, starting with our family units.

God gifted us with our exact children for a purpose and it is time we start blooming where He has planted us. Right in the midst of our motherhood!

Psalm 92:4 For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
